The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race (GCBSR) is this week in Baltimore and Norfolk.

The GBSR is a non profit founded to promote education and awareness of the Bay’s maritime heritage and encourage the preservation and improvement of the Bay’s natural resources.

Beginning in Baltimore, the race ends 118 nautical miles down the By in Norfolk.

On Wednesday, October 14, watch the vessels dock at Anchorage Marina between 10AM and 2PM. At 5PM, watch the Parade of Sail. View the vessels from Canton, Fells Point, Harbor East or the Inner Harbor shorelines.

On Thursday, October 15, the race begins at 12PM just south of the Bay Bridge near Annapolis. Schooner-rigged and other invited vessels begin their adventure down the Bay. Spectator vessels are reminded to please allow ample room for the vessels to safely maneuver.

View the vessels dockside in Norfolk on Saturday, October 17 at Freemason Harbor from 8AM – 1PM.
