Ahoy! Pirates and Wenches Weekend Returns to Rock Hall

Avast, maties! Prepare to explore a world of adventure, fun and merriment as the 16th annual Pirates and Wenches Weekend descends upon Rock Hall, MD, from August 11th to 13th. It’s time to dust off your tricorn hats, throw on your finest eye patch and get ready for a great time on the Isle of Delmarva.

The “Best of the Bay” award-winning event promises a weekend filled with thrilling activities, delicious food and lively entertainment for buccaneers of all ages. From mouthwatering seafood to refreshing spirits, you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice as you explore the area’s wide selection of renowned restaurants. Whether you arrive by land or by sea, Rock Hall is the place to be for a truly unforgettable family-friendly experience.

Starting with a splash, the weekend kicks off with the Friday evening rum tasting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Haven Harbour South, paired with delicious appetizers, as live music from Pete Sanchez sets the mood. The evening also offers a rousing Sea Shanty Sing-A-Long at The American Legion from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. With a full bar and light menu items, you can sing, dance and revel in the spoils like a true pirate!

On Saturday, young buccaneers can join the Kids Treasure Dig on the beach at 10 a.m., where buried treasures await your discovery. And for those with an eye for festive flare, the Decorated Dinghy Parade sets sail from the Harbor at 11 a.m., with the most creatively adorned dinghy winning the coveted Greybeard’s trophy. Continue the celebration with the Beach Party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and sway to the rhythm of live music by Jah People and Soundproof as you enjoy the company of your fellow swashbucklers.

The pinnacle of the weekend’s festivities comes alive during the Buccaneer’s Ball at Waterman’s Crab House from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday with a night of revelry, contests and seafood beckoning even the shyest of landlubbers to answer the call of the sea. Come dressed in your most impressive themed attire, and compete in the King & Queen Costume Contest or the legendary Greybeard Look-A-Like Contest. And don’t forget the Treasure Chest Raffle drawing at 10 p.m., where you could win merchandise and gift cards valued at an estimated $3,000, with proceeds going to local nonprofits.

But the festivities don’t end there. Throughout both Saturday and Sunday, gather your crew for the “Most Wanted Pirate” Scavenger Hunt to put your wit to the test, and for the youngest adventurers, the HoCo Pirate Adventure Treasure Trail provides fun for the whole weekend.
