What Makes It Unique
There are few places where you can experience a world-famous skyline from the helm of a boat. Jersey City offers exactly that. While millions of visitors admire New York Harbor from crowded ferries and waterfront walkways, arriving by boat puts you in the center of one of the most iconic waterways in the world. Cruise past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan skyline while enjoying a perspective few people ever experience. Best of all, you can leave the traffic, tunnels, and parking headaches behind and explore the harbor the way it was meant to be seen from the water.
Getting your bearings is surprisingly simple. Liberty Landing Marina, home to Freedom Boat Club’s Elite location, sits inside Liberty State Park on the western shore of Upper New York Bay. From there, it’s just a short cruise to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, with Lower Manhattan rising directly across the Hudson River. Head north to take in the dramatic skyline stretching from Battery Park to Midtown, or cruise south toward the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the entrance to New York Harbor. Along the Jersey City waterfront, you’ll find parks, restaurants, and transient dockage, making it easy to spend the day exploring before returning to one of the most spectacular marina settings on the East Coast.
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Freedom Boat Club is proud to celebrate a milestone of its own with the opening of its 450th location worldwide in Jersey City. Located at Liberty Landing Marina on one of the nation’s most iconic waterways, this Elite-only Membership location offers an elevated boating experience with premium boats (26 feet and larger), concierge-style service, and unparalleled access to New York Harbor. Backed by the world’s largest boat club, members enjoy access to a diverse fleet of boats at hundreds of locations around the globe making it easy to experience life on the water without the responsibilities of boat ownership.
For our adventure, we headed out aboard one of Freedom Boat Club’s versatile Key West center console boats. Equipped with Seakeeper Ride, the boat delivers an impressively smooth, stable ride by automatically reducing pitch and roll, making cruising through the busy harbor more comfortable and enjoyable for everyone on board. Whether you’re navigating the ferry traffic, taking in the skyline, or simply enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the water, it’s the perfect platform for exploring one of America’s most iconic waterways.
