The Wharf neighborhood in Washington, D.C., a $2.5 billion waterfront development project along the Potomac, has chosen Oasis Marinas to manage its docks, piers, and moorings.
Oasis is a Baltimore-based marina management firm, which just finished the multi-year renovation of Harbor East Marina on the Baltimore Harbor. It runs everything for its marinas, from boat slips and fuel docks to restaurants.
At The Wharf, Oasis will oversee operations of Wharf Marina, a 200-slip marina that can accommodate everything from live-aboards to transients, including megayachts. It’s currently under construction. Oasis will also manage the public floating docks at Wharf Cove, Market Docks, which offer seasonal transient and commercial slips next to the Municipal Fish Market, and the Washington Channel Moorings along East Potomac Park.
“This is a huge honor,” said Dan Cowens, Founder and CEO of Oasis Marinas. “We look forward to working side-by-side with The Wharf as they re-establish Washington, D.C. as a bustling waterfront city and premier destination for boaters.”
The Wharf stretches a mile along Washington, D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront, next to the National Mall. It runs from the Fish Market to Fort McNair. The first phase of The Wharf was completed in Fall of 2017. Further development is underway and, when complete, The Wharf will feature more than three million square feet of residential, office, hotel, retail, cultural, and public uses including waterfront parks, promenades, piers and docks.
