Couple Found Dead Below Dam on Upper Potomac River

The couple’s vehicle and boat trailer were found at the Big Slackwater boat ramp above Dam 4.

A Western Maryland couple, missing since Saturday on the upper Potomac River, has been found dead downriver from the Antietam Creek Aquaduct.

63-year-old David Robert King and 62-year-old Susan Lynne King, from Keedysville, Maryland, launched their bass boat from Big Slackwater Boat Ramp, above Dam 4, according to Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP).

NRP spokesperson Lt. Catherine Medellin says the aluminum Tracker Marine boat was found overturned, with damage, below the dam. Police found that the King’s were the boat’s registered owners, and matched the registration to a vehicle and boat trailer parked at Big Slackwater.

Susan King’s body was found in the water Sunday night and David King’s body was found Monday morning, both in the same area where the boat turned up.

NRP is investigating the two deaths.
