Freedom Boat Club of Middle River, located at Baltimore Boating Center, is welcoming the start of Maryland’s Rockfish season with RocktoberFest, an educational and experiential event that invites anglers and adventure seekers to enjoy an afternoon of fall fishing insights and on-water experiences—both for members and those curious to learn more about joining Freedom Boat Club.
The event takes place Friday, October 24, at 1pm at Charly’s Waterfront, adjacent to the Freedom Boat Club docks. The public is invited to attend the fishing seminar and enjoy appetizers, raffles, and—for a limited number of guests—the chance to get out on the water with the Freedom Boat Club team. “Rocktober is one of the best times to fish in the Chesapeake Bay,” said Captain Todd Nicusanti, Freedom Boat Club Captain and Freedom Anglers lead. “We’re excited to equip guests with the skills, strategies, and confidence to target fall Rockfish—and even more excited to get them on the water.”
Event Highlights Include:
- Fishing Masterclass: Hosted by Maryland Master Angler Tim Campbell, guests will learn proven seasonal tactics for catching Rockfish (striped bass), including lure presentation, reading the water, and local regulations.
- Boat Rides for Non-Members: Freedom Boat Club will offer limited first-come, first-served boat rides (pre-registration required) following the seminar. It’s a unique opportunity for prospective members to experience club boating firsthand.
- Appetizers + Raffle Giveaways: Enjoy light fare from Charly’s Waterfront and enter to win exciting prizes including fishing gear, branded apparel, and a rod & reel combo.
- Club Overview: Freedom Boat Club team members will be on hand to answer questions about membership, fleet access, and Freedom’s “boating made simple” model.
