Film Screening: Black Watermen of the Chesapeake

Christian Smooth, a 24-year-old Annapolis-based filmmaker and Vince Leggett, executive producer and founder of the Blacks of the Chesapeake, will be on hand to discuss the documentary film, "Captain Eldridge Meredith: A Quintessential African American Waterman." Come and meet Admiral Meredith and other Black Captains of the Chesapeake and hear more about their collective experiences on the bay. Marc Castelli will also be discussing his painting of African American Watermen. The exhibit and film screening are presented by the Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation, lnc., Smooth House Productions, Queen Anne's Co. Tourism Department, Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area, Marc Castelli, Dr. Mel Rapelyea, and Chesapeake Bay Magazine.
