Chesapeake Whalertowne Opens for Business at Annapolis City Dock
The longtime family-owned marine dealer, Chesapeake Whalertowne, will officially open its doors this week at its new sales office along the Annapolis City Dock’s Ego Alley.
The dealer, established back in 1948 as Baltimore Chris-Craft, now specializes in Boston Whalers and Mercury Marine boats. It has stayed in the family for generations, and over the years has called Baltimore City, Brooklyn Park, Grasonville, and Annapolis home.
Now, it’s opening a satellite sales location at the old Fawcett Boat Supplies building at 110 Compromise Street, a prime piece of waterfront real estate in downtown Annapolis. Annapolis Boat Shows, the operator of the U.S. Sailboat and Powerboat Shows, also calls the building home.
Chesapeake Whalertowne will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, September 21 at 11 a.m. The event will include a ceremonial ribbon-cutting with Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley, Boston Whaler President Nick Stickler, and the Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. Entertainment and refreshments will follow.
