Ocean City Has Love for Craft Beer

In February, when Ocean City beach season is still a distant dream, what does the town do to keep spirits up? It turns the month into “FeBREWary,” and celebrates the Eastern Shore’s growing craft beer scene.

On February 24, ShoreCraftBeer.com will host the Love on Tap Shore Craft Beer Festival at Seacrets, Jamaica USA in Ocean City. The festival offers 30 different craft beers (all from 14 local breweries), live music, and a great view of the bay. Participants get unlimited tastings, a commemorative pint glass, and can talk to local breweries about their beers. The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

VIP ticket holders get in an hour early, and a Seacrets Love on Tap t-shirt included in the ticket price. Only those 21 and over will be allowed in, so please bring a valid ID if you plan to come.

And for the competitive craft beer drinker, Ocean City has also launched the OCraft Challenge in time for FeBREWary. All visitors have to do is stay at a participating OC hotel, and stop in at five participating restaurants, bars or breweries that serve or cook with craft beer. Then you earn “an exclusive prize.” To enter the challenge, download the Shore Craft Beer App to see participating locations and “check in” as you go.
