VIDEO: Last Working Bugeye Relaunched after Overhaul

Edna E. Lockwood, the very last bugeye to harvest oysters on the Chesapeake Bay, is back in the water after a two-year project to rebuild her log hull. She was built on Tilghman Island in 1889, and is now lovingly cared for at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels. Cheryl Costello was there at the relaunching ceremony that kicks off the Edna Lockwood’s next chapter.
