Delmarva Locals Gets Into Ward Museum Free in February

If you live on the Delmarva peninsula and have always meant to check out the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, now is the time to do it.

The museum, which is part of Salisbury University on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is free for local visitors during the month of February. “Local” visitors include those who live in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Sussex and Accomack counties. The free admission comes courtesy of Bath Fitter of Delmarva, a Ward Museum sponsor.

The museum gives students and visitors the chance to explore wildfowl in art, heritage, and environmental studies. It is dedicated to the legacy of Lem and Steve Ward, legendary Eastern Shore decoy carvers. 20,000 people per year participate in its programs, both on and off-site. Right now, the museum is featuring Poetic Landscapes: the Student Art Show. It’s a non-competitive display of students’ work from around Delmarva. The Ward Museum also has a number of programs including Drop-in Art projects for children of all ages.
